Uplands Equestrian Centre recently hosted a graded showjumping and dressage show.

Very heavy rain during the preceding week washed away sections of the arenas, but sterling work from all the Uplands staff made the going excellent on the day.

The weather played along too and there was sunshine for the show, which made for happy and dry riders competing in the first Lowveld show of 2020.

The Saturday’s showjumping was well attended and all levels from lead rein to 1,20 metres were represented.
Paul Bester provided interesting and challenging courses, which were ridden with great competitive spirit by all the riders.

• PR & CH Elementary Test 2 – Ellen Holland on Biscuit
• Junior Preliminary Test 2 & 3 – Kelly Harris on Neu Heusis Real Earl
• Junior Elementary Test 2 & 3 – Jan Engelbrecht on Troytown Bordeaux
• Adult Elementary Medium 2 & 3 – Friederike Koep on Rivendell Aragon
• Adult Preliminary Test 2 – Colleen Smit on Oh Wow it’s a Swazi
• Adult Preliminary Test 3 – Charmaine Vincent on Ruach Medley
• Adult Elementary Test 2 & 3 – Rebecca Merensky on Lord of the Ring Adult
• Novice Test 2 & 3 – Kim Husband on Waterford Sylvester
• Adult Medium Test 2 – Sandra Kruger on Pinecreek Bolshoi.

The equestrian community is looking forward to the next shows being held at Uplands Equestrian Centre, which are the Mpumalanga Dressage Championship on April 18 and 19 and the Uplands Festival Showjumping Show on the May 30 and 31.
