Corné Olivier crowned club champion
His steady nerves led him to being crowned the club champion after the playoff.

The battle for top honours in the Liberty Life Mbombela Golf Club Championships (MGCC) was fought over the weekend at the club.
The field consisted of experienced golfers who were eager to prove their mettle over the two days. The format was stroke play.

Neil Du Toit created an early lead and was the overnight leader after a round of 72 on Saturday, leading by one shot.
After play on Sunday, Vernon Buckingham was declared the A-division nett winner with
138 shots.

Anton Steenkamp and Corné Olivier, who were tied on 148 gross, settled the championship with a play-off.
Olivier stroked the ball well and was declared the victor.
