GALLERY: An action-packed Penryn College versus HeronBridge College derby
The derby played out in Penryn's favour, with the Lowveld college going all out to keep their flag flying high.
This past weekend, Penryn College hosted HeronBridge College for some action-packed sports activities. The two schools competed in girls’ and boys’ hockey, netball, tennis, rugby and chess.

The much-anticipated rugby clash between the u/16 teams was a thrilling affair in which the visitors took top honours with a 29-7 scoreline. The Penryn second team avenged the loss with a 19-3 drubbing.

All in all, it proved to be a dream weekend for Penryn, whose head of college sport, Xolani Grootboom, said, “A big thank you goes out to our grade-11 parents for running the tuck shop and all staff who ensured that the derby was well organised – as well as the parents who came to support all our teams.

“All sport tours have been cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus,” he concluded, and wished everyone a blessed school holiday.
