GALLERY: Mbombela Golf Club opens after lockdown

In accordance to the most recent directions gazetted by Nathi Mthwethwa, Mbombela Golf Club was reopened yesterday morning. Golf enthusiasts who have been waiting more than two and a half months enjoyed their time on the course once again. Here are some of the photos taken on the course.

Mbombela Golf Club sent a letter to members, highlighting the rules and guidelines of playing golf during lockdown level 3.

The safe golf policy includes:
• Not touching or removing the flag pole
• Only one person per golf cart (unless direct family from same household)
• No rakes, benches or ball washers are available
• Changeroom, showering and clubhouse facilities are unavailable
• No exchanging score cards
• No high fives or handshakes.

“The club has sanitised and decontaminated the entire facility using a certified specialist and nwill continue to disinfect high touch point areas constantly through the day,” Darren Plumb, Mbombela Golf Club Covid-19 compliance officer, said.

“We are extremely thankful to government and GolfRSA for allowing our industry to resume and we look forward to welcoming members back to the club to enjoy the game.”
