Regions of City of Mbombela Local Municipality build relations through sport

Soccer and netball were played on the day

The regions within the City of Mbombela competed against one another in netball and soccer on Saturday at the Valencia Sports Grounds.

The aim of the event was to meet other colleagues and uplift everyone’s spirits. Teams played knockout games and the winners faced each other in the finals, with the Bonitas sponsored cup and soccer kit on the line.

The teams were Northern (Hazyview), Eastern (White River), Southern (Barberton) and Central (Nelspruit). Central beat Eastern to advance to the final, and Southern defeated Northern in the other match.

A curtain-raiser was played between Ligwalagwala FM and Voice of Hope FM. Ligwalagwala won after a penalty shoot-out.

The final game between Southern and Central was a tough, evenly matched encounter. It was decided by penalty shootout, which Southern won.

The broker EBC was also well prepared with the catering for the day, and sponsored food for all the players and management.

The Mbombela marketing team, including Bonitas and EBC, set up their branding at the venue. LOC members, Charles Nkosi and Runny Mthethwa, expressed their gratitude to Bonitas.
