Pumas Rugby Institute give Nelspruit Rugby Club a lesson in running rugby
The Ehlanzeni Premier League match was played at Kudu Park.
The UXI Pumas Rugby Institute put on a masterclass of running rugby to defeat Nelspruit Rugby Club 50-29 on Saturday June 17.
The match was played at Kudu Park.
The lads in pink outscored the boys in royal blue and old gold eight tries to five.
The first 20 minutes of the match saw two tries and a conversion scored for each team, and the score was 12-12.
But the UXI Pumas turned up the heat, and for the remainder of the half and the first 20 minutes of the second, ran Nelspruit off their feet.
Sloppy defence from Nelspruit made the UXI Pumas’ job much easier.
Six unanswered tries gave the UXI Pumas a 50-12 lead.

Nelspruit managed a come back in the final 20 minutes of the game. They suddenly were playing off the front foot and keeping the UXI Pumas in their own half. Three tries were the reward for the home team.
But it was too little, too late for Nelspruit Rugby Club.
The UXI Pumas were far superior in all facets, with the exception of the scrums.
Nelspruit looked like a team with no plan; the players did not gel as a team should do this late in the season.
