70% of tickets already sold for Springboks’ clash with Argentina in Mbombela

You’re slowly running out of time to grab yourself a ticket for the Battle of Mbombela on September 28, when Argentina and the Springboks face off at Mbombela Stadium.

Roughly 70% of the tickets for the clash between the Springboks and Los Pumas at Mbombela Stadium on September 28 has already been sold, so you best hurry if you still want to get one.

The Battle of Mbombela, as the clash has been dubbed, will be the 32nd time South Africa and Argentina face off against each other, and only the second time at Mbombela Stadium.

The last time these two nations battled it out in Mbombela was the opening round of the 2016 Rugby Championship. On that occasion, Los Pumas had home fans sweating profusely, leading 23-13 with 13 minutes to go. But a late resurgence by the Springboks sent the stadium into delirium as they bounced back for a 30-23 victory.

South Africa has won 11 of the 13 encounters with Argentina since then, with one of the two losses being the return fixture in Salta in the 2016 Rugby Championship.

There have been a few more close games since then, too, so the Battle of Mbombela looks set to deliver a cracking encounter. It’s scheduled to be the Boks’ final match of the 2024 Castle Lager Rugby Championship.

It will also be a welcome return home for the men in green and gold, as they’ll be returning from Argentina where their penultimate match in the Rugby Championship will be played.

Tickets can be purchased online from Computicket or at Mbombela Stadium’s ticket offices.
