It’s time for the eighth Lowvelder Golf Challenge

The September challenge will be the eighth one of this year. As with every other golf day in the 10-event series, the format will be in the form of an individual Stableford.

Just a few weeks after the second biggest Lowvelder Golf Challenge of the year, the eighth edition is ready to be held at Mbombela Golf Club.

The Lowvelder Golf Challenge has proved a hit with local golfers this year, held on one Wednesday a month with a total of 10 monthly golf days in the series. Organised and held in co-ordination with Du Toit Smuts & Partners Attorneys and Octopi Smart Solutions, the inaugural challenge was launched in February and the best attended day was in April, when 89 players participated.

Last month was the second best attendance yet, as 74 players took part in the August challenge. It was Peet Rabie who reached seventh heaven by scoring a total of 44 points on August 28 to win on a blistering hot day as we bade farewell to winter.

With Franchoa Giliomee and Denise West leading the way at the top of the leaderboard with a total of 181 points thus far, the eighth monthly Lowvelder Golf Challenge will be held at Mbombela Golf Club on September 18. As with every other one in the 10-event series, the format for the day will be in the form of an individual Stableford.

There is no additional fee to enter the competition, and all you need to do is book a tee time with Mbombela Golf Club and pay the regular green fees. You can book your spot by contacting the club on either 013 744 0952 or 066 124 5907.
