Spain beckons for Mbombelan athlete Alicia Bullen
Bullen landed in Spain today, October 31, ready for the challenge ahead.
Hybrid Mbombelan athlete Alicia Bullen is rearing and ready to go ahead of the IFBB Fitness Challenge World Championship in Spain, which takes place this weekend.
The world championship kicks off in Barcelona on November 1, and Bullen is one of only nine South African athletes taking part. She’ll be participating in the fitness challenge, and her competition will start tomorrow. Bullen has been hard at work preparing for this championship, having won the SA competition in August.
She has also had to work hard simply to make sure she can get to the competition, thanking everyone who’s made it possible. “A lot of people have come forward to donate money and help contribute to me getting to worlds. I am so incredibly grateful for each and every person,” she said on Tuesday.

Bullen hopped on a flight to Spain on Wednesday and will have today to acclimatise and get ready for the start of competition tomorrow. She was bade farewell by a group of supporters on Tuesday morning, everyone offering hugs and well wishes for the Mbombelan.
Bullen finished third in the masters category at the same world championship in Spain last year, and is hoping to not only repeat the feat, but better it this time around.
