Annual Barberton Rugby Day showcases the Lowveld’s very best

Each of Barberton's four sides managed to win their game.

Some of the region’s very best club rugby was on show at Barberton Rugby Club as they hosted their annual Barberton Rugby Day on Saturday, March 8.

This rugby day forms a valuable part of clubs’ preseason preparation every year, and this year Barberton hosted teams from Nelspruit, Piet Retief, Newcastle, Hazyview, White River, Potties and Malelane. Things kicked off at 10:00 with the hosts facing off with Malelane 2. It was a triumphant start to the day for Barberton as they won the encounter 41-7.

Barberton 1’s Blake Oliphant.
