Karatekas from Fukusu team excel at champs
Six karatekas of the Fukutsu Dojo in Lydenburg will represent Mpumalanga in various championships across the country.
The students started the year off with a clean sweep in the Ehlanzeni Regional Championships before moving on to the Mpumalanga Provincial Championships. The KSA National Champions medals were won in Bloemfontein and Xander Schoeman won his UFAK Regional South Africa medal in Durban. The tournament took place between Friday 27 and Sunday 29 May. All the karatekas earned provincial colours.

Shihan Chris Andrews said the athletes performed well this year, earning medals at all of Karate South Africa’s (KSA) major events. Sensei Shaun Mkhonto, John Mpale and Xander Schoeman have been selected for the KSA national team.
Schoeman also won a bronze medal for KSA, placing third in the UFAK Region South Championship, in which South Africa competed against all the other southern African countries.
