Steelpoort marathon runner encourages locals at his athletic club

Da Braves Sports Development held a fun athletics day at Ngwaabe, outside Steelpoort.

The Steelpoort marathon runner, Evans Mabowa’s mission to keep everyone fit, is bearing fruit. Hundreds of locals are now training with him at his athletic club, Da Braves Sports Development.
Mabowa and his team organised a one kilometre fun run, aerobics session and other sporting games at Ngwaabe outside Steelpoort last Saturday. The winners were rewarded with medals.
“We are recruiting members on a daily basis; young and old are joining us.”

The founder added, “I wish to take the youth off the streets. We want healthy youths who are fit. We will encourage them to focus more on sport.
“It is advisable for locals to keep on exercising regularly, and to declare war against obesity, cholesterol, hypertension and other diseases.”
For Da Braves Sports Development to succeed, Mabowa thanked the sponsors, donors, organisers and the members of the community for coming in their numbers and taking part in the training sessions.
