Lowvelder sponsored competition brings out the best in golfers

Stephan Potgieter claimed first place with 40 points at Mbombela Golf Club.

Stephan Potgieter won the second Lowvelder sponsored Mbombela Golf Club Competition last Wednesday.

The format for the day was the individual Stableford. Competitors had to score a total of 11 points on holes 2, 5, 12 and 16 to qualify.

Eighty-five players took part at Mbombela Golf Club.

Potgieter, the Lowveld president of the Mpumalanga Golf Union, scored 40 points to take the honours.

Dawid de Kock was second on 39, on a count-out from Stefan de Villiers who finished third.

Lowvelder will sponsor five more club competitions and invites everyone to enter, as at the end thereof, a winner will be announced based on the total individual Stableford points for all the rounds.
