A full field took the tees, fairways and greens, and the rough and water hazards, at the annual KLCBT Golf Day at Mbombela Golf Club on Friday.

The scramble drive four ball alliance, two scores to count, shotgun start at 11:00 competition was enjoyed by all, with the tee and green sponsors keeping all entertained, hydrated and fed.

The golfers with a higher than 13 handicap, played off a 13 that evened the playing field. For the lower handicapped players, it was business as usual.

The theme of the day was ‘hippie’ and this was carried from the course onto the 19th hole by the players, irrelevant of how well or poorly they had played.

Results:
• 1st: Matimba Nkatini, Aurel Nyambi, Danny Thwala and Vutomi Chauke – 111 points.
• 2nd: Duncan Morgan, Triven Govender, Randal Pillay and Warwick Morgan – 103 points.
• 3rd: Morné Feurie, Niel van den Berg, Martin Hope and Gerhard Sinden – 103 points.
