Squash players master the game in fantastic spirit in Mbombela

In total, 66 players from as far as Rustenburg participated in the various categories of the squash tournament.

The 24th Lowveld Masters squash tournament that took place over the weekend of July 26 to 28 was a huge success, with some exceptional squash on display.

In the A section for men, the Court Crushers won with a total of 37 points, and the Racketeers and Racket Rebels came second and third with 30 and 25 points respectively. This section was jam-packed with some of the best squash players in the Lowveld, with the club champions from White River and Barberton participating.

In the B section for men, the Highveld A team walked away as the winners with 48 points, Rustenburg were second on 30 points, and the Lowveld Warriors third on 25 points.

Games were played at various courts in the Lowveld, including Barberton, White River, Virgin Active and Uplands.

The doubles section was played at the Nelspruit Squash Club. This was a fun-filled event with very competitive squash between the teams. The winning team was Thea van Baart and Izak Lamprecht from Pretoria, and in second place were locals Wayne Potgieter and Elana Roos of the Nelspruit Squash Club.

The tournament concluded with a function and prize-giving at the Jock Pub & Grill. Everyone enjoyed great food and danced till late.
