Padel 24 victorious in Battle of the Clubs – a wonderful night of sport and community in Mbombela
Three padel clubs took each other on for the bragging rights of being number one.
Padel 24 hosted the highly anticipated Battle of the Clubs on October 15.
The competition, co-organised by Ryan Osborn, manager of Padel 24, and Muhammed Arabi, head coach of the Mpumalanga Academy, aimed to grow the sport in
Mbombela while fostering community engagement and showcasing local talent.
The event brought together the three clubs, each represented by their top six players, split into three teams. The competitive format featured fast-paced matches as the teams played two rounds of best-of-three sets, with a point being awarded for each win.

In the opening round, Padel 24 faced White River Padel in a hard-fought clash, followed by White River taking on Play360 Nelspruit.
The evening culminated in a dramatic showdown between Padel 24 and Play360, with both clubs fighting for the top position. By the end of the night, Padel 24 emerged victorious with five points to Play360’s three points, securing the bragging rights as the title of the champion club in Mbombela.
The event drew an enthusiastic crowd. Attendees enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere and high-level matches, reaffirming the sport’s potential to unite and inspire.
“This is just the beginning,” Muhammad said. “We have big plans to host more events, grow the sport and create an enjoyable experience for players and spectators alike.”
The success of the Battle of the Clubs signals a bright future for local sports, promising even greater events on the horizon.
