The region’s best primary school swimmers converged on Penryn to proudly represent their schools at the Top Primary Schools Gala on Saturday, October 25.

Hannah Morgado of Curro Nelspruit was the senior primary victrix ludorum.

Andrew Bruyns of Laerskool Nelspruit, Hilton Vos and Maricus Seaman of White River Primary shared the senior primary victor ludorum trophy.

Chiniq Breet of Curro Nelspruit delivered the best senior primary individual performance for girls – 00:37:76 in the 50m breaststroke (598 Hy-Tek points).

The best individual performance for boys came from Hilton – 00:33:23 in the 50m freestyle (647 Hy-Tek points).

In the junior primary schools division, Riley Adams of Laerskool Nelspruit won the victrix ludorum trophy.

The victor ludorum was Ethan Vermaak of Komatipoort Akademie.

Lumay de Beer of Laerskool Nelspruit swam to the best individual performance for girls – 01:42:96 in the 100m individual medley (639 Hy-Tek points).

The best individual performance for boys was achieved by Laerskool Nelspruit’s Jayden Erasmus – 00:17:36 in the 25m freestyle (625 Hy-Tek points).

Emmanuela Banza of Penryn set a new record of 00:40:76 in the girls 11 50m breaststroke.

Curro’s Emma Marx, Chiniq, Hannah and Paige Plumb teamed up to swim to a record time of 02:33:77 in the girls 200m medley relay.

Overall top three primary schools placings:
1st: Laerskool Nelspruit – 2 123 points
2nd: Curro Nelspruit – 1 525
3rd: Komatipoort Akademie – 1 215.
