The Lowveld Padel Men’s Premier Franchise League delivered a thrilling conclusion to its second season, as the Sonic Viboras defeated the Desert Falcons in a highly anticipated final to be crowned back-to-back champions.

After seven rounds of intense league action, the Desert Falcons topped the premier standings with an outstanding campaign, recording six wins from seven matches to finish on 28 points, while the Sonic Viboras followed closely in second place on 23 points. Both teams showcased consistency, depth, and sharp skill throughout the season, setting the stage for a blockbuster final.

The premier final, played at Play 360 on Monday evening, February 9, lived up to expectations, with the Sonic Viboras rising to the occasion under pressure.

Drawing on their championship experience, the Viboras delivered a composed and clinical performance to overcome the leagueleading Falcons 16-5 and successfully defend their title.

Their victory confirms the Sonic Viboras as the dominant force in Lowveld Padel, achieving the unique feat of consecutive Premier League titles and cementing their status as the competition’s most formidable franchise.

The league table highlighted the growing competitiveness of the tournament. The Rulo Apaches and the Samurai Kick Smashes both finished strongly on 21 points, while the Ice Breakers rounded out the top five.

Despite mixed results at the lower end of the table, teams such as the Avalanche Aces, the Globo Boomerangs and the Baltic Blades contributed to a season marked by high quality matches and rising standards across the board.

Season 2 of the Lowveld Padel Men’s Premier Franchise League once again showcased the rapid growth of padel in the region, with packed fixtures, passionate support, and stiff competition. With the Sonic Viboras now firmly established as the team to beat, anticipation is already building for an even bigger and more competitive season 3.

The curtains have also come down on a historic Premier Season I of the Vodacom 4U The Grove Lowveld Padel Ladies Franchise League, South Africa’s first-ever ladies padel franchise competition. It was an unforgettable final that lived up to every expectation.

The league brought together six franchises – the Lunar Lilies, the Desert Roses, the Phoenix Flames, the Backhand Blossoms, the Arctic Angels and the Net Novas – showcasing talent, competition, and the growing passion for women’s padel in the region.

After a dominant league phase, the Lunar Lilies topped the standings with a flawless record, followed closely by the Desert Roses, paving the way for an epic final between the top two teams.

The thrilling final between the Lunar Lilies and the Desert Roses at Play 360 on Sunday, February 8, had everything – drama, tension, and pure heart-stopping action. From the first serve, both sides went blow-for-blow, refusing to give an inch.

The Desert Roses brought the heat with relentless attacks and aggression, pushing the Lilies to their limits.

But the Lunar Lilies held firm, answering with skill, tactical brilliance, and lightning-fast counter-attacks.

In the dying moments, with the score neck-and-neck and the crowd holding their breath, the Lilies edged ahead in a nail-biting finish that had fans on the edge of their seats. It was the Lunar Lilies who blossomed under pressure, winning 6-4.
