12 points separate top 10 in Lowvelder Golf Challenge

Golfers head to Mbombela Golf Club for round 8 with a year's free membership on the line.

John Ross Tapson leads the log on 193 points as competitors enter the final three rounds of the 2026 Lowvelder Golf Challenge.

Only 12 points separate the first-placed player on the log from the 10th. The second- to fourth-placed golfers are JJ van Rensburg, Christo Smith and Paul Greyvenstein, all on 177.

Danie Bezuidenhout is fifth on 175.

Winner receives 1 year free club membership

The competition is still wide open, and competitors will again play at Mbombela Golf Club in the eighth round on September 16.

With a grand prize of a year’s free membership to Mbombela Golf Club going to the winner come the final round on November 15, it is all to play for in the last three rounds.

Players book directly with club

Octopi Smart Solutions, Du Toit-Smuts and Partners Attorneys and Castle Lager Double Malt are the sponsors of the 2026 Lowvelder Golf Challenge.

Players are required to book their own rounds and carts via the club on 013 744 0952. Prize eligibility requires attendance at the prize-giving ceremony.

All participants must be affiliated with a club and hold an official handicap.
