High jump record broken at Uplands prep inter-house

Parents and children at the Uplands Prep interhouse athletics day watched in awe as the pint-sized Amani Omar shattered the current U12 Girls high jump record by an astounding 11 centimetres. She cleared 1,41 metres to break the current record of 1,3 metres.

This young lass is only 1,38 centimetres tall and could easily walk under the pole after her final jump.

Amani will go through to participate in the district athletic meetings and will no doubt represent Mpumalanga at national events.
