Hoërskool Rob Ferreira ready to face Ferrum in 70th anniversary celebrations

Hoërskool Rob Ferreira turns 70 years old this year, and as part of their celebrations they will battle against Ferrum High School in a mouth-watering clash in the SDC Noordvaal Cup Division 2 in White River on Saturday May 18.

The match forms part of a special day of sport and celebration for Rob Ferreira as they celebrate the school’s 70th anniversary with Robbies from yesteryear and the present. The school will be playing against Ferrum in all of the rugby matches, while they will play hockey against Hoërskool Barberton.

The netball teams will face Ferrum, Komatipoort Akademie and Hoërskool Barberton. The first team will play three matches on Saturday. The first round of rugby, netball and hockey matches will all start at 08:00, while the first hockey boys’ match at 13:00 will be the final fixture of the day.

The first match for the first netball team will be at 08:00 against Ferrum, with Komatipoort Akademie next at 10:00. Finally, they will take on Barberton at 12:00. The first rugby team will play against Ferrum at 11:30, a crucial match in the grand scheme of things as it could determine who finishes the weekend top of the log in the first team section of the SDC Noordvaal Cup Division 2.

Ferrum are unbeaten thus far in the league and have proved a formidable force, so Rob Ferreira will have their work cut out for them. But they go into the fixture having recently secured resounding wins against Uplands and Hoërskool Lydenburg.

They’ve also recently defeated Hoërskool Centurion, while narrowly losing to Bergsig Academy. This good form will prove vital to them this weekend. There will be great festivities for all to enjoy on the day at Hoërskool Rob Ferreira as well, so be sure to attend and celebrate the school’s 70th birthday.
