Lowveld businesses braved the cold and rainy weather to participate in the major ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that was held at Bagdad Shopping Centre on Friday
October 10.
This was truly a momentous occasion. The event was organised by Junxion Communication to create awareness of motor neuron disease and an opportunity to donate to charity. The aim was to see how many businesses in the Lowveld would stand together for such a cause.
A phenomenal turnout of more than 40 companies was achieved and participation per company varied from just the MD taking on the challenge to other companies, where the entire staff complement of up to 15 were dunked with water. Over and above the participation from the companies, an amount of R60 000 was also pledged to the various motor neuron disease institutions.
