Mbombela – a city where the people make the rules?

We asked, you spoke up. Here are your rules for Mbombela.

MBOMBELA – Lowvelder recently posted a question on social media that attracted a lot of attention. The question was: “If you could make or change the rules in Mbombela, what would you decide to implement? From our readers’ response, it was clear that we have many volunteers who are itching to run various aspects of our city. Dave Walters’ suggested that road users’ licences must be suspended if they don’t know how to use traffic circles.  Do you?

A few locals would like the municipal authorities to be accountable to the people.

According to Stacey David, companies around here charge much more (up to twice as much) for products than elsewhere in our country.  “This should not be allowed,” she said.  “Prospective employers must not be allowed to discriminate against those who do not have their own transport and public transport should be punctual, frequent and useful,” she suggested.
