Living legend of blues and rock astonishes local audience

Dan Patlansky, a true master of the blues.

MBOMBELA – For most classic-rock and blues fans, seeing their heroes live is a mostly unattainable dream. This homegrown blues artist has a distinctive style. His music is raw, powerful and emotional, showing his true mastery of the blues. This incredible musician has toured extensively with another living legend of guitar, Joe Satriani who is on his own solo acoustic tour of South Africa. Patlansky’s performance was a combination of Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and the early blues style of John Mayall – yet in his distinctive style.

To truly appreciate his talent is to see him perform live. His hands slide over guitar strings as if by magic. One can only admire it and make a mental note to tell your future grandchildren that you saw Patlansky perform.

In 2014 he was chosen to open for Bruce Springsteen in front of 64 000 people at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on his High Hopes tour.  Patlansky was personally approved by Springsteen as his supporting act, seeing as he rarely has guest artists for his shows. Despite all this success, Patlansky gives his all during shows. The appreciative crowd responded with a deafening, thunderous applause.
