WATCH: Creativity encouraged at a candlelit Paint & Wine evening
Not even load-shedding could dampen the spirits or creativity of those attending the Paint & Wine event held on Thursday evening.

Paint & Wine is a pleasant evening out where guests can enjoy a glass of wine while learning how to paint.
The sold-out event that took place at Adega Nelspruit was the perfect opportunity for friends and colleagues to let their hair down and bond while learning the art of painting with watercolours.
According to the organiser, Sheralyn Janse van Rensburg, at these events you can always expect a lovely evening filled with laughter and fun. “Every event we do a different painting on canvas.
We give you stencils, so the end result is a perfect masterpiece. It doesn’t matter if you can draw a stick figure or not. You are able to do it.”

Santie Sutherland and her fellow hairstylists from Salon Shalanté did not mind the load-shedding that prevailed most of the evening.
“With the lights off, we are even more creative. Let’s call tonight ‘Paint by Candlelight’,” she said.

The women from ABSA Square made the most of the evening by using it as a team-building opportunity.
“We all work on the same floor at ABSA Square and even though the only thing I can paint is my name, I was very eager to come and take part,” said Louise van Zyl.
Her colleague, Letitia van Niekerk, chimed in, “I am only creative after a couple of glasses of wine.”
Janse van Rensburg started the initiative, because she found a lack of entertainment in town, especially for women on a girls’ night out.
