BURGERSFORT – One of the most supported teams in South Africa is not doing well in the DStv Premiership Soccer League (PSL).

Kaizer Chiefs fans in Tubatse are adamant that their team will turn the tables soon. The supporters celebrated Heritage Day in style as they dressed in their famous gold and yellow regalia.

The celebrations were held at Maandagshoek Ga-Makganyane Tavern (Busy Corner). They celebrated by singing songs about the Phefeni Glamour Boys. They danced and ululated, reminiscing about the good old days.
Japhta “Dimo 20” Phala, the spokesperson for Kaizer Chiefs Tubatse branch, said card-carrying members from all corners of the country attended the gathering.

“We had members from Seshego, Phalaborwa and the guys from Jane Furse. We still encourage members to join our team. The glory days will be back again.”

Regarding Kaizer Chiefs’ performance in the DStv Premiership, Phala said the supporters need to support the coach, Stuart Baxter, his technical team and the players.

“Every team goes through a rough patch once in a while. The boys will regroup and they will start obtaining maximum points.”

The Tubatse Kaizer branch members meet monthly to celebrate their team’s success. They share meals and drink together.
