Steelies learners honoured at prize-giving

STEELPOORT – Laerskool Steelpoort (Steelies) held its annual prestige prize-giving ceremony on Thursday. The event was to commemorate and award the school’s top achievers, both in the classroom and on the sports field.

The school hall was filled with anxious and excited pupils, parents, family and friends. They all observed and adhered to the Covid-19 rules and regulations. The ceremony included light entertainment from the school choir as well as other extramural activities rendered by the learners.

The new head boy (Neo Thankge) and head girl (Neo Makgoba) and their deputies for 2022 were revealed, the dux learner (Mckayla Olivier), top achievers in each subject were also announced. They were bestowed with medals, trophies and certificates.

The school management team thanked the parents, the pupils and the sponsors for a successful 2021. They vowed to work hard in improving the school.
