X-Rider range expanded

Now in its fifth year, the X-Rider has even more exclusive appeal through the X-Rider Limited Edition.

Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSA) has added three sporty X-Rider Limited Edition models to the Isuzu D-MAX range. Badged the X-Rider Limited Edition, production of the new models will be limited to 210 individually numbered units with a numbered plaque in the engine bay. The X-Rider Limited Edition is Isuzu’s latest addition to the ever popular 6th generation D-MAX bakkie. First introduced in 2016 as a special value model to the D-MAX range, the X-Rider proved popular with bakkie buyers and became a permanent fixture of the Isuzu model line-up both in South Africa and rest of Africa markets. Now in its fifth year, the X-Rider has even more exclusive appeal through the X-Rider Limited Edition which adds exclusive features such as blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, X-Rider Edition Limited Sports hoop, tailgate branding, branded carpet set, and a standard load box roller-shutter. “The X-Rider was first introduced to the range as a special edition model. It was such a hit that we decided to make it a permanent part of the D-MAX model range. The X-Rider Limited Edition is a celebration of the success we’ve had with the 6th Generation D-MAX. We believe this is the best iteration of the D-MAX bakkie to date in terms of value, build quality, and appeal. The X-Rider Limited Edition is a vehicle that true Isuzu fans will be proud to own and keep as part of their garage,” says Craig Uren, senior vice president Isuzu Sales and Marketing. “We are continually studying feedback and data from the field throughout the lifecycle of our vehicles and we continue to make improvements, not only to the product, but to the manufacturing processes to maximise build quality. The X-Rider Limited Edition is by far the most robust and well-built example of the D-MAX to date. This is a vehicle which will last a lifetime,” said Dominic Rimmer, senior vice president technical operations. There are three models available in the X-Rider Limited Edition, a 2.5 HO X-Rider LTD 4×2 5 speed manual, a 2.5 HO X-Rider LTD 4×2 5 speed auto, and a 3.0 X-Rider LTD 4×2 6 speed auto. All are based on existing X-Rider models. The 250 HO models continue with Isuzu’s formidable 2.5 litre turbo diesel engine making 100kW and 320Nm. The 3.0 X-Limited is fitted with the D-MAX’s current 3 litre Turbodiesel engine which makes 130kW and 380Nm. The combined cycle fuel consumption for the 2.5 models is 7.7 l/100km, with CO2 emissions of 203g/km for the manual. The 3-litre model’s combined cycle fuel consumption is 7.5 l/100km with CO2 emissions at 198g/km. All Isuzu D-MAX bakkies come standard with Isuzu Complete Care, comprising a five year/unlimited km anti-corrosion warranty and a five year/90 000km service plan. Service intervals are every 15 000km/12 months. Extended cover can also be purchased for roadside assistance, service plans, and maintenance plans through Isuzu mobility. Pricing starts at R552 400 including VAT. Source: QuickPic
