Phala continues to win pool tournaments

“It was a tough competition as I got to play with the pool players from our shores. You always learn in this game and I am grateful for winning the November showpiece.”

TUBATSE – Sello “Supercharge” Phala is gradually proving to locals that he is among the best pool players in the area.

The man from Riba Cross has garnered another accolade. Phala was the undisputed champion in the Tubatse Pool championship recently held at The Palace in Burgersfort.

“It was a tough competition as I got to play with the pool players from our shores. You always learn in this game and I am grateful for winning the November showpiece.”

Phala challenged anyone who wants to tackle him in the game of pool. In September, The Cable Man, as Sello is known, represented Limpopo in the 2021 South African blackball championships.

It was for the second time in a row he had qualified for the same tournament. He did so back in 2020. Phala thanked other players from the Burgersfort Pool Players Association who always give him support. “We are one team, and if one of us do well, we always give him the much-needed support.”

This festive season will see an avalanche of snooker tournaments being held in Tubatse.

Riba Cross, Mabocha and Praktiseer are known to have produced some of the best players in this game.
