CIT vehicle bombed near eManzana, three guards seriously injured
The cash-in-transit heist occurred between Barberton and eManzana (formerly Badplaas) at around 17:00 on Monday January 17.

Three Fidelity guards were seriously injured when the armoured vehicle they were travelling in was rammed off the road by a white Toyota Land Cruiser and bombed just 12km outside eManzana.
The vehicle was on its way to Barberton and did not have a back-up vehicle at the time of the incident.
An undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
The Mpumalanga Hawks’ spokesperson, Capt Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi, said the number of suspects was unknown.

She said two other vehicles had been recovered on the Nkomati mine road afterwards: a white Audi, registration number JC16DFGP, and a Toyota bakkie, registration number KF63JNGP.
The Toyota bakkie was found to be stolen from eMalahleni earlier this month. A rifle belonging to Fidelity was recovered near the vehicle.
All three Fidelity guards were taken to Mbuleni Hospital in Elukwatini.
The Hawks Directorate for Priority Crime, Badplaas Vispol and the Local Criminal Record Centre attended to the scene. The matter is being investigated by the Secunda Serious Organised Crime Unit.
