Golfers bring the heat at 2024 Nedbank Mbombela Golf Club Winter Champs

Corné Olivier held the lead after the first round and went on to win the A division championship, while Alieke van Zyl won the women’s competition.

Corné Olivier is the 2024 Nedbank Mbombela Golf Club Winter Championships winner.

He finished on two over par (144) to claim the title.

The tournament was played at Mbombela Golf Club on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, over 36 holes.

Olivier’s 70 in the first round and 74 in the second gave him a four-shot gross win over the second-placed Chris Esterhuizen, who shot 75 and 73 for a tournament score of six over (148). Ruan van Blerk was third on seven over par (73, 76).

Alieke van Zyl won the women’s gross championship with her rounds of 78 and 82, giving her a 36-hole total of 160. Nidene Stapelberg was the runner-up on 181 and Taig Lilford came third on 192.
