ANNUAL TARRIFF CONSULTATION INVITATION (2026/2027)

The Inkomati Usuthu Catchment Management Agency (IUCMA) is mandated to convene a process of tariff determination of water use charges for the catchment in terms of section 57(1) and (2) of the National Water Act 36 of 1998 read with paragraph 6.3 of the Pricing Strategy for Raw Water Use Charges published under Government notice No. 201 of 16 March 2007 in Government Gazette No. 29697. The process of determination requires extensive and engaged public participation to be convened by the IUCMA as per section 80(e) of the National Water Act 36 of 1998.
The IUCMA would like to extend an invitation to all water users and interested parties to participate in the tariff consultation scheduled as follows:

At these meetings, as part of the background to justify the water use charges determined by the IUCMA presentations on the establishment of the IUCMA, the powers and functions of the IUCMA, Annual Performance Plan for 2025/26 that includes the 2025/26 budget and water use determination will be made.
The Department of Water and Sanitation will give background to justify the water use charges determined by the Minister for funding of water resource development and use of water works as well as for achieving the equitable and efficient allocation of water.
This community participation is convened by the IUCMA as contemplated in section 80(e) of the National Water Act 36 of 1998. Persons and or institutions having an interest in the water use charges who confirm their availability will receive the documents through e-mail and at the venue on the day of the Consultation Meeting.
