Three people died and 10 others were injured when a minibus taxi overturned along the R40 near Hilltop on Friday evening, July 17.

Emer-G-Med ambulances rushed the 10 injured passengers to various hospitals in the area after they were stabilised on the scene by paramedics.

Emer-G-Med’s Martin Jeffrey said the road was not closed and traffic was flowing without disturbance.

He said emergency personnel were waiting for the SAPS and forensic pathologists to arrive on the scene.

It is unclear where the minibus was coming from or heading.

Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson Moeti Mmusi said investigations into the cause of the accident were ongoing.
