BREAKING: Huge illegal cigarette bust

His arrest led police to a house in Rivier Street said to be the main house where these illegal cigarettes are allegedly being kept and distributed from.

LYDENBURG – Steelburger/Lydenburg News is currently on a scene where Lydenburg SAPS has made an exceptional breakthrough in illegal cigarette trade.

According to Capt. Alfred Moela, police spokesperson for Lydenburg SAPS, police received a tip-off regarding a Toyota Quantum carrying illicit cigarettes. He said that officers gave chase and the vehicle was pulled off on the Roossenekal road after it collided with one of the police vehicles. One Indian suspect was arrested. The other four Zimbabweans managed to flee into a nearby field.

Moela said that SAPS is still waiting for a warrant to search the house in Rivier Street. He said that he would like to thank the members for their swift response to the tip-off.
