Trac Road Safety campaign
Trac is gearing up for a dramatic increase of traffic during December and January, and it's therefore imperative for the concessionaire to implement road-safety measures and the availability of 24-hour rapid roadside assistance and response.

The road-safety campaign will kick off on 11 December and will continue until January 3rd.
Both dates, December 11 and January 3, have been identified as potentially the busiest peek traffic periods, and activations will be hosted at Alzu Petroport, and other identified spots along the 570km stretch between Gauteng and Mozambique.
The operations will see large contingencies of emergency services, Trac Helpdesk staff and TracAssist staff, being posted at the rest stops between 10:00 and 22:00.
From there, the teams can be dispatched to incidents or accidents in the least possible time.
Participating emergency services include ambulance services, fire and rescue services, provincial traffic officials, pathology units and Trac accident response services.
Smaller response units will be stationed at strategic points at Bronkhorstspruit, Milly’s and Nelspruit.
The campaign will also be in full swing across the border in Mozambique where emergency services and TracAssist will be stationed at the new Pessene Load Control centre, on both December 11 and January 3rd.
The Trac N4 December Campaign is spearheaded by TracAssist and Trac’s 24-hour Helpdesk, acting as the communications hub.
Trac’s Helpdesk is usually the first to be alerted of incidents and accidents, and therefore plays a vital role in the December initiative.
Helpdesk operators will be on duty throughout the holiday period to notify and dispatch emergency services, from a central dispatch centre.
Helpdesk operators will also keep motorists, the media and all relevant parties up to speed with the situation, off and on the road.
Trac will furthermore work hand in hand with the Lebombo Border Control Operational Coordinating Committee, and help with traffic management at the post where traffic is expected to be bumper to bumper.
Trac will assist with the provision of several logistical requirements, and by issuing traffic control information fliers to motorists.
Travelers can contact the Trac Helpdesk on 0800 87 22 64 for information and assistance.
