Weather alert: Severe thunderstorms expected in Groblersdal

Weather forecasts predict a probable severe thunderstorm in Groblersdal and surrounding areas.

The South African Weather Service’s (SAWS) sent out a warning level 2 alert for severe thunderstorms in Groblersdal and surrounding areas during the early hours between 01:00 and 06:59.

The SAWS warned against localised flooding of susceptible roads due to heavy downpours, minor vehicle accidents due to slippery roads and poor driving visibility.

As seen in the AccuWeather radar forecast, a storm can be seen heading towards Groblersdal.

AccuWeather has predicted Groblersdal’s humidity to be 46%, with 0% probability of a thunderstorm taking place during the night. A 2% chance of rain was predicted by 06:00 tomorrow morning with the probability of rain rising throughout the day. By 16:00 AccuWeather has predicted a rain probability of 63%, with 10.9mm expected rainfall.
