Two detained for dealing in dagga

Two men were nabbed for dealing in dagga in Marble Hall after police received information about their shenanigans.

The police confiscated dagga wrapped in plastic bags and R340 during the arrest of a 34-year-old man who was additionally charged with contravention of the Immigration Act after he failed to produce a passport.

The police nabbed a second suspect, who is 37 years old, after he was found in possession of a plastic bag containing dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash in a separate incident in town.

The arrests took place Thursday morning.

Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, said the suspects were apprehended during the ongoing Vala Umgodi Operation.

“Leads were accurately followed, and the suspects were arrested,” said Mashaba.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Marble Hall Magistrate’s Court soon.
