Roping in of Sekhukhune clinic as part of Bophelo Pele healthcare programme, promises improvement to facilities.

Phokoane Clinic within Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality in Sekhukhune district saw the Limpopo Department of Health’s Bophelo Pele initiative extended to the facility.

Accompanied by officials, MEC Dieketseng Mashego arrived at the clinic on Monday as part of the programme to monitor service delivery.

The MEC’s effort is aimed at ensuring constant interaction between the leaders of the department and healthcare workers as well as patients to improve operations.

The Bophelo Pele programme is tailored to unearth and address challenges faced by public healthcare facilities in underserved communities.

Staff members guided Mashego on a walkabout of the clinic through which the MEC had an opportunity to ask patients about the standard of the services they receive.

Mashego expressed satisfaction on the overall operation of the public healthcare facility located in the rural Phokoane Village, highlighting room for improvement.

She called on staff members to put an extra effort to minimise the challenge of long queues experienced by patients.

The MEC has visited several clinics across the district since the launch of the programme about two years ago.
