Possible stolen gun lands Lukau man in custody

A man was arrested in Lukau for possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The Sekhukhune District Tracking and Investigation Team nabbed a 27-year-old man found with an unlicensed firearm and ammunition reportedly stolen in Modimolle.

Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the suspect was arrested in Lukau Village on November 3.

The man attempted to flee from the police when he was spotted near a local tavern, but was later arrested.

“An investigation into the matter is continuing. The suspect is expected to appear before the Nebo Magistrate’s Court on November 4 for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” Ledwaba said.
