Police seek help to identify body found in Dikgoale

Police are asking the public for assistance with the identification of a body discovered just outside Vaalbank.

The body of a man, believed to be between the ages of 30 and 40, was discovered in a field in Dikgoale Village in Leeuwfontein on Tuesday.

According to Mpumalanga Provincial Police spokesperson Captain Mpho Nonyane-Mpe, the discovery was made at about 10:30 by passersby.

The deceased was found in his underwear with multiple injuries.

“Despite efforts made, the police have not succeeded in locating the next-of-kin,” Nonyane-Mpe added.

Anyone with information that can assist in the identification of the deceased or locating his family is urged to contact Warrant Officer Solomon Baloyi on 066 482 8918, Vaalbank SAPS on 013 947 6192, Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or use the My SAPS App.

Nonyane-Mpe indicated that all information received will be treated in the strictest confidence.
