Farming community educated about HIV/Aids

The HalleluYah Clinic, between Marble Hall and Groblersdal, held an HIV/Aids campaign to create awareness among the farming community.

The HalleluYah Primary Health Care Clinic, located at the Schoonbee Landgoed Farm along the N11 between Marble Hall and Groblersdal, embarked on a HIV/Aids campaign yesterday (Tuesday).

Primary Health Nurse Clinician Sister Manyaku Mokobake said the campaign aimed to create awareness among the farming community.

The programme targeted farm workers, educating them about the epidemic, providing screening and testing, as well as referrals.

“The campaign will forever remain a significant tool to educate the farming community about the importance of taking charge of their health,” Makobake said.

Mokobake further thanked all the stakeholders who ensured the success of the campaign.

Deputy President Paul Mashatile, in his capacity as Chairperson of the National Aids Council, alongside Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoeladi and Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba, observed World Aids Day in Ga-Masemola Village at the local stadium on December 1.

World Aids Day was commemorated under the theme ‘Renewed Efforts and Sustainable Commitments to End Aids’.
