Ephraim Mogale celebrates rising matric success

Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality held its 2025 Matric Excellence Awards at the Municipal Town Hall in Marble Hall.

Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality held its 2025 Matric Excellence Awards at the Municipal Town Hall in Marble Hall last Wednesday to celebrate the outstanding performance of learners and educators, as well as education circuits in the National Senior Certificate examinations.

Top matric learners were presented with awards, acknowledging the amount of hard work and dedication they put in last year.

Mayor Given Moimana led the ceremony and thanked the tireless efforts of educators in driving academic excellence. He encouraged the learners to continue striving for the best they can be, highlighting that their performance is a testament to their potential.

Moimana praised the educators’ commitment to positively shape the next generation of leaders and professionals.

He further appreciated the private sector for its consistent support in academic initiatives.

The best performing learners and educators received laptops, trophies, and certificates in various categories.

Kubela Secondary School was recognised as the most improved school, as its pass rate jumped from 58.1% in 2024 to 87.5% in 2025.

Mokone A Mabula, Tshikanoshi, and Kubela secondary schools received trophies and certificates as Best Performing Schools in their respective education circuits, with Tlhakanang Secondary School being appreciated as the Overall Best Performing School.

Moutse West Education Circuit achieved a 85.9% pass rate, receiving the Best Performing Circuit award.
