Laerskool Julian Muller: Impressive speeches take centre stage

Laerskool Julian Muller learners wowed judges with imaginative speeches and powerful stage presence during the school’s speaking event.

Laerskool Julian Muller recently hosted its internal public speaking competition, where young participants impressed adjudicators with confident delivery and creative thinking.

The adjudication panel, comprising Henia Potgieter, Megan Taljaard, and Mia French, faced the challenging task of selecting winners from a highly talented group of speakers.

In the Grade Three category, Phuthi Mphuti claimed top honours with her striking speech titled ‘Noise! Can you hear me?’, capturing the audience’s attention with both clarity and expression.

The Grade Six division saw Aneeta Mathew rise above the competition with her imaginative presentation, ‘Girls are rebels, just like Cinderella!’, which stood out for its originality and bold message.

Motheo Mphuti dominated the Grade Seven category with his inspiring speech, ‘Rebel with a purpose’, leaving a lasting impression on both judges and audience members.

• According to the school, these achievements reflect the balanced development encouraged at Laerskool Julian Muller. Motheo, for instance, not only excels academically and culturally but is also a dedicated rugby player, embodying the well-rounded ethos promoted by the school.
