Limited edition Tata Evolve

The Evolve is very competitively priced and looks significantly different.

Accordian Investments, which markets Tata cars and light commercials in South Africa, has answered the increasing local demand for higher specification double cab pick-ups with the introduction of the Evolve limited edition, which is based on the Xenon XT models.

The Evolve is very competitively priced and available only in white with a significantly different exterior and interior appearance to distinguish it from the other models in the Xenon range.

The Evolve is offered initially on the 4×2 model, but a 4×4 derivative is available to special order.

The retail price (including VAT) of the limited edition Evolve 4×2 double cab model is R264 995.

The exterior of the special edition has a number of important, added value features including a rollover bar behind the cab, side steps, a front nudge bar and a tow bar, as well as a special decal package. The alloy wheels have been revised as an additional distinguishing feature.

The big change to the interior is luxury leather trim for the seats, while the Evolve logo also appears on the interior floor mats.

The Xenon is Tata’s new generation pick-up range and was launched locally in September 2013.

The range blends modern styling, comprehensive safety features, including ABS and dual front airbags, as well as a host of convenience features, such as GPS navigation and Bluetooth compatibility, while the double cab models have lockable rear differentials and the single cab models limited slip differentials, all aimed at aiding traction.

Other items of standard equipment are electric windows, power steering, an audio system with an MP3 player and a tilt-adjustable steering column.

The Evolve is powered by a new generation 2.2-litre turbo Tata diesel engine with variable valve timing, variable turbine technology and direct injection with a common fuel rail.

It develops 110kW of power at 4 000rpm with peak torque of 320Nm available between 1 500-3 000rpm. Power goes to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, with the option of four-wheel drive models.

Tata offers a number of important added value features that provide customers with peace of mind.

There is a fouryear/120 000km warranty, fiveyear/75 000km service plan, fouryear/120 000km anti-corrosion warranty and four-year/unlimited kilometre roadside assistance.
