Wheels for collectors

Collectors of fine automobiles, both classic and contemporary cars, shouldn't miss the next event of refined driving at Consolidated Auction Group.

Set down for September 28, the auction promises to be a one-of-a-kind opportunity to invest in some exceptional, collectible wheels.

“And it is for that very reason we would like to invite collectors interested in selling old cars, to make use of this rare chance to access the market,” says Chico da Silva, Consolidated’s managing member and principal auctioneer.

In the meantime the company is gearing towards a heavy-duty yard disposal where mechanical horses will top the bill.

Late-model quality characterises the range of horses from various top brands and bidders can also expect a good selection of related assets from the transport sector at next Thursday’s auction.

From run-of-the-mill trucks to volume, drop-sides, side-tippers, superlinkers and interlinkers – “we have ’em all”, says Da Silva.

Varied lots from the construction and other heavy-duty machinery sectors can also be expected at the sale.

“Whether it’s tractors or TLBs (tractors, loaders and backhoes), crane and service loaders, we have good machines that no doubt will go for great prices.”

Da Silva emphasises that the market is still very much in favour of buyers.

“They determine what to pay for an item – always the best draw card for an auction.”

In between all the trucks and other large assets, buyers will also find cars. The truck and plant auction on August 29 starts at 10.30am and will be held at 10 President Street in Germiston.
