Funeral parlour gives a helping hands to local soccer team

The sponsorship is on the basis that the team arranges friendly games against teams currently participating in the Castle and Vodacom leagues.

Together Funeral Undertakers has decided to extend a helping hand to its namesake in soccer circles, Together FC, based in Mataffin.

Tsepo Mashego says he is very happy to have this opportunity to thank Together Funerals after they adopted them as a soccer team which started wth nothing, but hoped to finish well. The team was established on the old grounds right next to Mbombela Stadium.

He said they started their team last week Monday and Together Funerals’ officials showed up at their pitch to help them make their dreams come true. Mashego said that Together Funerals sponsored them with four soccer kits, excluding soccer boots, 12 soccer balls, 40 training cons and 30 training bibs.

“It was a dream come true for me when they brought us everything we always needed, including soccer balls because they have always been a crucial matter in order for our team to grow, and now we will develop strongly, unlimited. They said they would provide us with soccer boots after qualified players had been selected from within the team, because we still have to undergo selection trials,” said Mashego. The team of 40 talented young players aged 16 to 23, dreams of joining the Vodacom League soon.

Since the team is new in the world of soccer, they don’t want to rush into the tournament. The sponsorship is on the basis that the team arranges friendly games against teams currently participating in the Castle and Vodacom leagues.

“I am in no doubt that my boys will make it through the friendly games. We have from tomorrow until further notice,” said Mashego. “The team will help reduce criminal activities. It will keep the boys off the streets, while reducing the abuse of alcohol and the use of drugs in the Mataffin and neighbouring communities.

“Thank you Together Funerals, for your special support,” said Mashego.
