WATCH: Four injured after car collides with train

Some of the occupants of the vehicle were lucky to escape with only moderate injuries.

Four people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to severe after the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a train in Tarlton, on the West Rand.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene at 11.55am on Saturday, all of the occupants were out of the vehicle, Krugersdorp News reported.

“Upon closer inspection, paramedics found that the occupants had sustained injuries, and the ER24 Oneplan helicopter was called in to transport a woman to Lenmed Randfontein Hospital for further medical care,” Ineke van Huyssteenm, ER24 spokesperson, said.

“The other patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further medical care.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not clear to our paramedics, but Metrorail and the local police were on scene for further investigations.”
