WATCH: Boltonia explosion leaves one dead

Roughly 25 000 litres of oil caught fire.

On Tuesday night at about 10pm a huge explosion was heard by residents of Boltonia and surrounds, Krugersdorp News reports.

According to Nico Kahts, manager of Emergency Management Services for the West Rand District Municipality, the explosion occurred at Majestic Oil Mills, an oil-processing company on Mould Street, Boltonia.

“We received the call at about 10.10pm, and three fire trucks were sent out in response. When they arrived on scene one of the oil tanks was still on fire,” he explained.

It is alleged that roughly 25 000 litres of oil caught fire, and left one person dead.
