Angry mob brutally assaults ‘goat thieves’ in KZN

An angry mob attacked three men, leaving them critically injured, while the fourth man managed to escape.

Three men were badly injured after being brutally attacked by residents of Area J, Steadville, on Tuesday after they were caught with stolen goats, Ladysmith Gazette reports.

For a few weeks now, residents have noticed a white Toyota Tazz driving in and out of a goat kraal in the afternoons. Upon closer observation, they realised these men had been stealing goats kept in a kraal behind an industrial building.

It is believed the thieves are from Ezakheni and have been selling the goats in Ekuvukeni.

After seeing the Toyota Tazz again going towards the kraal today, residents quickly gathered and set a trap for the suspected goat thieves.

They stopped the car and found goats that were being stolen. That is when the beating began. The driver managed to escape as the angry mob attacked the remaining three men, leaving them critically injured.

The three men were transported to hospital, and police are still hunting for the fourth man.
