Catch Tevin Campbell live in Pretoria

The singer has been mentored by some of the world’s legendary artists, including Quincy Jones and Prince.

Platinum-selling singer-songwriter Tevin Campbell will be performing in Pretoria for the first time at the Sun Arena on August 2.

The show, like his SA concerts in 2013 and 2016, is expected to sell out quickly.

Time Square general manager Brett Hoppe said: “What a coup … This concert will [be] his first in Tshwane.”

Campbell is the first of two international artists performing at the Sun Arena in August. The other is iconic R&B singer Joe Thomas, on August 30.

Fans can expect to hear many of Campbell’s popular hits, as well as new material.

During his career, Campbell has been mentored by legendary artists, including Quincy Jones and Prince. He has worked with some of the industry’s top writers and producers, including Babyface, Al B Sure, Narada Michael Walden, Wyclef Jean and Sean “Diddy” Combs.

His 1991 debut album, T.E.V.I.N., went platinum and included two R&B chart toppers, Tell Me What You Want Me to Do and Alone with You, as well as the R&B top-five hit Goodbye.

Campbell’s album I’m Ready, released two years later, went double platinum and featured three R&B chart hits, Can We Talk, I’m Ready and Always in My Heart.

His compilation album The Best of Campbell was an international success, reaching platinum status in Japan and the UK.

In recent years, Campbell has performed on Broadway, in Melbourne and Sydney.
